I Met 100 Cool CEOs in Silicon Valley and I Saw 1 Thing All Have in Common
No, I did not meet them in person. Come on, don't stop reading - I promise there is something valuable for you.
I read an article on Business Insider about 100 Cool CEOs in Silicon Valley. The article had their pictures and a short bio.
I looked at those pictures closely. I stopped on each picture for more than 3 to 4 minutes. I know it is creepy. But I saw something in those pictures, in all of them. And that was the reason I stopped and kept looking. I could not take my eyes off of the photos because what I saw was the common thing among all those CEOs. They all had at least 1 thing in common, and I saw that common thing.
We all have seen a flower or a plant rising high beneath the concrete floor or asphalt road. What is it that makes that flower, plant so successful? The answer is resilience.
Resilience - that is what I saw in those pictures of CEOs. Every single CEO in that picture literally yelled to me - "I did not give up! It was me versus the world, and I showed the world that I can do it; that is it possible!"
Resilience: that ineffable quality that allows some people to be knocked down by life and come back stronger than ever.
WOW! What a definition! Rather than letting failure overcome you and drain your strength, belief, resolve, resilience helps you to find a way to rise from the failure.
Some of the factors that make someone resilient are a positive attitude, optimism, the ability to regulate emotions, and the ability to see failure as a form of helpful feedback. Even after misfortune, if you learn how to become resilient, you will be blessed with such an outlook that will help you to change your course and move on, move forward.
Are you resilient?
Here is an amazing example of resilience (4 minutes only). Gets me every time! Watch: resilience.
